Jennifer Chessey passed away June 18, 2017. She was the youngest daughter of Esther and Bob Chessey. Jennifer was significantly younger than her siblings; her antics brought her family additional joy, laughter and entertainment. And she loved it. When she got older Jennifer channeled that love of attention to a wider audience. With enthusiasm and natural athleticism, Jennifer and some cool friends formed their first cheerleading squad in the 3rd grade. She gained skill, poise, and most importantly a dear friend in Johnna Moss. Jennifer continued in cheerleading through high school and was over the top when she made the UTEP Miners Cheerleading Squad. She was the smallest lightest member, the flyer, the thrill seeking center of attention. Normally calm, Esther would hide her eyes when Jennifer' big moments came, but Esther and Bob were there for Jennifer. Jennifer graduated with her degree in Communication Studies from UTEP in 1987.
She worked in journalism and promotions for several local businesses. Jennifer enjoyed dancing, traveling with her sweetheart Robert and his cooking. Survivors include her mother, Esther Chessey, siblings Bob (Nancy), Stephanie and Maryanne, her Love Robert Gordon who was by her side for 22 years as well as nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donate to The Humane Society or Christ Child Society.
Visitation: Sunday, June 25, 5-9pm, vigil at 7pm, Martin Funeral Home Central. Funeral mass: Monday, June 26, 9:30am at St. Raphael’s, burial at Evergreen East Cemetery.
