Juan was born in El Paso, Texas and graduated from Bowie High School, Class of 1966. He went on to further his education and graduated from UTEP and continued working toward completing his Master's Degree in Business Management through the University of Phoenix. He was married to his high school sweetheart Laura, for over 54 years and together for 58 loving years. He worked 28 years with the City of El Paso and the City of Socorro in Environmental Health services. He was known as "Uncle Buck" to his nieces and nephews whom he enjoyed teasing and spent many proud and happy years in support of his grandsons' many baseball events. Juan was also an avid Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Dodgers fan and had an enormous passion for playing card games with family and friends--having shared many hours of fun and excitement.
Of special interest: Juan Guillen was the godson of Staff Sergeant Ambrosio Guillen, USMC--one of the last recipients of the Congressional Medal of Honor, posthumously awarded for valor, having served during the Korean War. SSgt Guillen is buried at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
