

Julia R. Goodman, 97, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 1, 2015 in El Paso, Texas. Throughout her life, she was employed by the Federal Government and worked in different locations throughout the world to include, Germany, Paris and the Pentagon. She retired from Ft. Bliss in 1976. In her free time, she loved to play Bridge with her lifelong friends Florence, Vivian, Hallie and Winifred. Julia was preceded in death by her husband Oliver and her siblings George, Marina and Henry, and great grand-daughter Christina. She is survived by her daughter Mary "Licha" Martinez and son Ralph Goodman (Jeannie); five grandchildren, Cecilia Gomaz (Jon), Sylvia Najera, Monica Rodriguez (Henry), Stephanie Ferguson and Rick Goodman (Danielle); eleven great-grandchildren, Jason Burnett, Chynna and Ayla Gomaz, Richard Hernandez Sr., Isaac and Matthew Rodriguez, Taylor and Chase Ferguson, Hunter and Hayden Goodman and Rylan Decoteau; three great-great grandchildren, Richard Hernandez Jr., Jonathan Burnett and Owen Hansen; numerous nieces and nephews. Our heartfelt thanks go to her loving caregivers Aurora, Tania and Gladys with Gentiva Hospice and Lorraine, Ale and staff with Homage Foster Home. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Martin Funeral Home Central with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. Pius X Church at 1:15 p.m. Rite of Committal will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
