

Lee Riely Dean, 49, of El Paso, TX passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023. Riely, as he was known, was born on October 18, 1973 in Carlsbad, NM to H. Crockett Dean and Joy Rascoe Dean. He lived most of his life in Southern New Mexico and Far West Texas. Riely attended school in Artesia, NM, Dell City, Texas and Cloudcroft, NM, after graduating high school from Cloudcroft NM he joined the Marine Corp where he served honorably. After his discharge from the Marines, Riely worked in Cloudcroft and Dell City before settling in Carlsbad, NM where he worked as an oilfield safety coordinator for over 15 years.
While in Carlsbad, Riely became a member of the Elks Lodge, participating on their ritual competition team and serving a term as Exalted Ruler. Riely also loved music and was learning to play different instruments. He especially loved playing music at the First Baptist Church in Dell City on Sundays when he could attend.
Following a diagnosis of chronic kidney disease and the death of his wife, Chelsea, Riely moved to Dell City and later to El Paso to be closer to his kidney doctors. He was living in El Paso at the time of his death.
Riely was preceded in death by his wife, Chelsea Bowman Dean and grandparents Roy and Juanita Rascoe and Clifton and Millie Dean. He is survived by his daughter, Reagan Lee Dean of Carlsbad, his four bonus children, August Bowman of Carlsbad, NM, Wesley Laman of Carlsbad, NM, Kaitlyne Laman and Matthew Laman of Kingwood, TX; his mother, Joy Dean of Dell City, TX; his father, Crockett (Pam) Dean of Mayhill, NM; mother-in-law and father-in-law Trish and Jeff Bowman of Carlsbad, NM; siblings, Star (Wade) Bennett of Dell City, TX, David (Dawn) Gallagher of Carlsbad, NM, Jess (Stephanie) Dean of Seven Points, TX, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and members of his extended Bowman family. He also leaves behind several special short time and longtime friends.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 11 a.m. at The Hut in Dell City, TX followed by a potluck lunch.
