Manuel Ramon Villanueva Jr.

Manuel R. Villanueva, Jr. loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away at the age of 85 on November 13, 2025. Manuel known to everyone as “Manny” was married to his loving wife “Vicky” for 61 years before her passing.

Manny was born in El Paso, Texas. At the age of four, he moved to Paramount, California, where he attended Paramount Elementary School and Paramount Junior High School where he excelled in track and football. At the age of fifteen, he moved back to El Paso and attended El Paso High School for a while where he met the love of his life “Vicky”. He worked for Eastwood Pharmacy as a delivery boy and then he joined the El Paso Fire Department in 1969 where he was assigned to Rescue 3.

Manny Loved fishing, restoring old trucks, horseback riding, he was very mechanically inclined and an all-round handyman. Manny was a die-hard Dallas cowboy fan and loved attending games with his nephew and grandson.

He is preceded in death by his parents Manuel R. and Trinidad Villanueva, his bothers Oscar Villanueva, Carlos Villanueva, Genaro Villanueva, and his wife Vicky Villanueva. He is survived by his daughter Bernice A. Garcia and son-in-law George, his grandson Michael A. Garcia and wife Ashley, great grandchildren Bruce, Brayzen, and Alysia, his sister Stella “Estelita” Bautista her husband Manny, and sister-in-law Irene Villanueva. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Arturo Hernandez, Dr. Vivek Choudhary M.D., the ICU Staff at The Hospitals of Providence East Campus, The Staff at Hospice El Paso, and Ms. Sandra Beltran and her staff at Solstice Rio Norte for their compassion, professionalism, and excellent care.

Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm with a Vigil/Rosary at 6:00pm on Wednesday, November 19th, 2025 at Funeraria del Angel Evergreen East at 12400 Montana Ave, El Paso, Tx 79938.

Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00pm, Wednesday, November 20th, at St. Mark Catholic Church at 11700 Pebble Hills Blvd, El Paso, TX 79936.

Committal Service at 1:30pm on Wednesday, November 20th, at Evergreen Cemetery East at 12400 Montana Ave, El Paso TX 79938. Reception to follow services at Funeraria del Angel Evergreen East Funeral Home.
