the sixth of twelve children—seven boys and five girls. Her father was a farmer, and her mother, a homemaker, dedicated herself to raising their children. Growing up in a humble household, Maria became a woman of deep humility, much like her parents.
She attended North Loop Elementary School and Ysleta High School. Maria later met and fell in love with Carlos Vasquez, a Navy Sailor. They married and were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Lisa, who became their pride and joy. Together, they did everything for and with Lisa.
Lisa married and had two beautiful boys, Donald Jacob and David Hinchman. When Lisa passed away, both Maria and Carlos were heartbroken. After Carlos's passing, D.J. and David moved back to El Paso to live with Maria, and she raised them with love and care. D.J. remained with Maria until her passing.
Maria was deeply loved by many and left behind countless cherished memories. She made it a point to ensure the holidays were fun and unforgettable for everyone around her.
Maria’s impact extended beyond her family, as she and her husband were deeply involved in supporting children with special needs, making a lasting difference in their lives.
Maria inspired her family in many ways, creating traditions that continue to be honored and imitated.
As she grew older, it became difficult for Maria to maintain her dignity. Struggling with physical limitations, she grew increasingly depressed and impatient, hating to feel like a burden to anyone. Eventually, she made the decision to move to a foster home.
Maria is now at peace, resting in the loving embrace of God. She will soon be reunited with her husband Carlos and her beloved daughter Lisa, walking hand in hand once more.
May they all rest in peace, awaiting the day of resurrection, when they will live forever in paradise, never to die again. God Almighty is truly an awesome God, having sent His only begotten Son to teach us how to walk in His footsteps so that we too may live in paradise forever. Amen.
