

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Myriam Avila, passed away on February 22nd 2016 at the age of 74. A resident of El Paso, TX, she was born in Torreón, Coahuila. Myriam enjoyed spending time with her family and sharing stories of her youth, ranging from the responsiblities of raising her younger siblings to her days as a hairdresser. She revered culture and arts, and encouraged her children and grandchildren to carry the legacy of their heritage afar, but also to learn about the world around them.
She was predeceased by Arturo Rodríguez Gómez, her beloved brother. She is survived by her husband Roberto Avila (Sr.); sons Roberto Avila (Jr.) and Cesar Avila; daughters-in-law Elsa Avila and Angelina Teressa Avila; sisters Veronica Rodríguez de López, Minerva Rodríguez Gómez, Erarmina Rodríguez de Villarreal, Xochitl Rodríguez Gómez, Zorina Rodríguez Gómez, Sigfrido Rodríguez Gómez, Diana Myrna Rodríguez de Romero; grandchildren Robert James Avila, Cesar Anthony Avila, Alexis Avila, Karina Sophia Avila, Olivia Elizabeth Avila, Evan Avila; greatgrandchild Tatiana Avila; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation, along with Vigil Service, will take place on Friday, February 26th, 2016, from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Martin Funeral Home, located at 3839 Montana Ave. Funeral mass will take place on February 27th, 2016 at 9:00am at Our Lady of the Light, located at 4700 Delta Dr. The Rite of Committal will take place at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, located at 401 S. Zaragoza Rd., immediately following mass.
