Norma Edna Frye

There was a joyful reunion in Heaven as Norma was reunited with her husband and parents. Mrs. Norma Frye, 96, of El Paso, TX, stepped into glory on Thursday, October 5, 2023. She was born to Jesse and Opal Akin on May 30, 1927 in Wichita, KS.

Besides her love for Jesus, Norma was blessed to experience the love of her life, Clarence Frye. They married in 1964 and had 54 years together until his passing. Norma was a devoted, loving wife, with caring for Clarence her top priority. They enjoyed their routine of eating out and holding hands on the patio after each meal. Norma loved to travel. She was thrilled to achieve her goal of visiting all 50 states in 2001. Norma and Clarence enjoyed 26 cruises to Alaska, the Caribbean Islands, and the US east and west coasts. They loved the six years they lived in Hawaii, but Norma especially had a passion for Hawaiian dresses. Researching the genealogy of her Cherokee Indian heritage was a passion. She was active as Hospitality Committee Chairman for the El Paso Genealogical Society. Norma served her Lord faithfully through many ministries at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of El Paso including Missions, Deacon, Presbytery Delegate, Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, and secretary for her church. She loved reading her Daily Devotional.

You have truly been a blessing to Norma and her family. You are our angels on earth. Norma is survived by son, Terry Ketchel of Denver, CO, daughter Kerry Buscher of Weaverville, NC, grandson Jeff Buscher and his wife Jeannine Buscher of Weaverville, NC, granddaughter Alison Pinkston of Phoenix, AZ, and great grandsons Jackson Buscher and Andrew Pinkston.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 10:00 on Tuesday, October 17 at Solstice Senior Living at Rio Norte. Chaplain Carlos Clugy will officiate the ceremony.
