

Ornal Ray Blake (nickname Fladdie) was born in Waskom, TX on January 4, 1938, to the late Charlie and Estella Ragland Blake. He moved to Alamogordo, New Mexico, with the family in 1944. He accepted Christ at an early age, where he joined and was baptized at New Zion Baptist Church.
Ray was educated in the Otero Independent School District where he received his high school diploma from Alamogordo High School. Ray was very active in high school sports. He played baseball and football was his love. After high school, Ray enlisted into the United States Army on October 23, 1961.
Ray was a strong, and dedicated man with many outstanding qualities. He was a master chef, loved cooking, and spending time with family and friends. He could make you smile and laugh when you were having a bad day. He was one that never met a stranger.
Ray and his family moved to El Paso, TX in 1972. He was employed with White Sands Missile Range, NM as a calibration laboratory contractor where he retired after 40+ years.
He leaves to cherish his memory: Longtime Friend: Bobbie Brown, Children: Robert Blake (Los Angeles, CA) Felicia M. Blake (Los Angeles, CA), Step-Son Major M. Brown (El Paso, TX), and Step-Daughter Tishell E. Sabo (German, MD). Four sisters: Mary Lee Blake (Houston, TX), Barbara Jean Long ( Dover, DE), Annette Atkinson (Hollis) of Altus, OK, and Linda Kirk (Alvin) of Shreveport, LA. Five grandchildren: Malcolm Brandon Blake, Thomas Phillip Blake, Jordan Quinten Blake, Michael Heiser, Kristen Ann Blake, and Stephanie Marie Blake. Four great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, beloved relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Estella Blake, two sons: Malcolm and Kenny Blake, one daughter- in-law, three brothers, and three sisters.
