It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Rafael Rangel and Gloria V. Rangel, lifelong partners in love and life. Gloria passed away on July 24, 2025, and Rafael followed on July 29, 2025, a testament of the unbreakable bond they shared throughout of their 65 years of marriage.
Both Rafael and Gloria were born in Mexico. Rafael was born on October 18, 1938, and Gloria was born on August 21, 1941. They were married on October 13, 1959, beginning a journey that would span decades, raise a family, and build a home filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Gloria was a gifted cook, had a deep affection for her birds, and found joy in the everyday moments. She was fiercely dedicated to raising their children and caring for their grandchildren. Gloria was known by many as a proud “Sports Mom”. Rafael had a deep love for sports and music. He enjoyed playing the guitar and listening to trios, often filling his home with melody and song. A man of sharp intellect, he had an impressive knowledge of geography, proudly knowing all the states, their capitals, and the capitals of countries around the world. Rafael will be fondly remembered for his respectful nature, his remarkable math skills, and the joy he brought to others through his singing and guitar playing. Together, they enjoyed listening to music, and supporting their children at sporting events.
Gloria and Rafael were preceded in death by son, Ruben Reyes, grandson, Rene Rangel, and son-in-law, Ricardo Egure. They are survived by their children, Rafael Rangel and his wife Norma Rangel, Rodolfo Rangel and his wife Lucy Rangel, Roberto Rangel and his wife Rosie Martha Franco, Ricardo Rangel and his wife Grace Rangel, Raul Rangel, Rene Rangel and his wife Monica Rangel, Maggie Egure, and daughter-in-law, Leonor Reyes. Gloria and Rafael also leave behind 21 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with Vigil Service at 7 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Evergreen, 12400 Montana Ave, 79938. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, August 22, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church with services concluding thereafter.
