

2010. He was 81, born in Hill City Kansas on August 7, 1928 to James L.
and Maude Wagner. His unique sense of humor and caring ways endeared him
to all of those around him. He graduated from Hill City High School in
1947. He joined the United States Army, serving in the Korean Conflict
in Battery C 145th FA BN until 1952. He married Donna Grafton on
September 19, 1959, taking on the job of raising her children Suzanne
and Wade as an exemplary father. His own son Reece A. Wagner Jr. was
born on July 27, 1960. Reece and Donna celebrated their 50th anniversary
this last September. Reece worked as a grader operator, assisting in the
construction of Interstate 10 and interstate 25 until an illness made
this type of work impossible. Several occupations occupied the next few
years until his final employment as a school bus driver with the El Paso
Independent School District from which he retired at 65 years of age.
Reece served as the treasurer for Boy Scout troop 222 for over 35 years.
He also acted as a driver/deliverer for the drive-a-meal program for ten
years. He has been very involved with his church, Highland Presbyterian
since the 1960s. He was Leisure time was spent at Wellington Chew
Nutrition center visiting with friends and playing cards. He is survived
by his wife Donna, son Reece Jr., his wife Marion, step son Wade
Warling, and step daughter Suzanne Shores, her husband Fred Shores,
brother Herbert Wagner, and sister Nina Fowler. Barbara Warling, his
daughter-in-law was especially close to him during the last few months,
as caregiver and confidant. He would want his special friend, Jack
Sturgis, who helped with all manner of things during the last few years
to be recognized. There will be visitation at Funeraria Del Angel Martin Central,
3839 Montana Ave., El Paso, Texas, from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on
April 22, 2010. The funeral will take place at Highland Presbyterian
Church, 9210 Dyer at 10:00 A.M. on April 23, 2010 followed by a
Graveside service at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements under the direction of Funeraria Del Angel Martin Central.
