Robert “Bob” Lino Jr, 86, of El Paso, Texas passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025. He was born in Los Angeles, California, and graduated from Ysleta High School.
Bob proudly served in the Marine Reserves before beginning a distinguished career with El Paso Fire Department, retiring as a lieutenant. His decades of service earned him the respect of his peers and gratitude of the community. He was also active in civic life, serving as PTA president at North Loop Elementary and by participating in the Democratic Party.
A certified Master Gardener, Bob found joy in nurturing life—whether in his garden or through quiet acts of kindness. His wisdom, generosity and devotion to family will be remembered by all who knew him.
He is survived by his children: Alberto (Connie) Duran, Silvia Prieto, Araceli Lino, Ricardo (Edna) Lino, Griselda Lino Fernandez and Adrian Lino.
Bob was a proud grandfather to: Sharon Duran (Kade) Estes, Shawndra Duran (Manuel) Zavala, Shannon Duran (Michael) Magga, Christian Duran, Aaron (Rachel) Silva, Sergio O. Silva Jr., Arabella Lino (Carlos) Chavez, Jacqueline Fernandez, Michael Joseph (Rebecca) Fernandez and Gabriel Fernandez.
Bob’s legacy continued with his great-grandchildren: Lillyanne Nichole Fernandez and Michael Samson Fernandez.
His siblings and sister-in-law are: Lorraine Lino (Don) McKay, Ralph (Barbara) Lino and Deborah Noel (Robert) Flores.
Bob also had many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lino, Sr. and Helen Rocha Noel.
To all Robert Lino Jr.’s children—Alberto, Silvia, Araceli, Ricardo, Griselda, Adrian and Sharon—each of you gave your father the greatest gift: the comfort of knowing he was deeply loved. You were there for him during different times in his life journey. Thank you.

Special thanks to Christal, the social worker, whose kindness and care meant so very much. Deep gratitude goes to CNA’s: Alexander, Fabiola and Luz Terrazas for their gentle and attentive care during Bob’s final days. Your presence brought comfort and dignity to a man deeply loved.
A memorial service will be held in El Paso to celebrate Bob’s life on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Funeraria del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, supporting the education of children of U.S. Marine Corps and Navy Corpsmen—an enduring tribute to Bob’s service and values.
