Mrs. Socorro "Sukie" M. Anaya, 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by her three children on Saturday, August 5, 2017. Sukie was a lifelong resident of El Paso, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rafael Sr., and her parents, Angelita and Cristino Melendez.
Mrs. Anaya is survived by her sons Rafael Anaya Jr., Cesar Anaya (Theresa), daughter Cynthia Anaya and grandson Noah Anaya. Sukie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who lived her life to the fullest. Sukie leaves behind her three brothers, five sisters, and numerous nephews and nieces. Family and friends were Sukie's passion and delight in addition to dancing and entertaining. Sukie always had a flair for a quick wit and canniness.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Tender Loving Care Elderly Foster Home for the wonderful assistance and care provided to Mrs. Anaya.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from 5:00 to 9:00PM with vigil at 7PM at Martin Funeral Home Central. Funeral mass will be on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 9:45AM at Holy Family Church, 104 Fewel St. Interment to follow at 11:00 AM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
