Born in New York City, Vicente spent his early years in Nicaragua and was later enrolled in the Gulf Coast Military Academy, where he developed the discipline, character, and resilience that shaped the rest of his life.
After graduating, Vicente proudly served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. His service instilled in him a lifelong commitment to hard work, integrity, and public service. Following his time in the Army, he moved to El Paso, a city he grew to love, and began his long career with the City’s Civil Engineering Department. During his tenure, he contributed to significant local projects, including the Chamizal National Park and the Wyler Aerial Tramway.
Outside of his professional life, Vicente was an avid collector of coins and stamps and had a true passion for history. He had an infectious sense of humor and loved sharing stories from the past.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Martha Vita. Vicente will live on through his son, Vicente Vita Jr. He is also survived by his sister, Matelda, grandchildren, Grayson Vita and Maxwell Vita and daughter-in-law, Rebecca Vita.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. with a Chapel Service at 2 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Evergreen, 12400 Montana Ave. All services will conclude the same day.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
