Pauline attended Lincoln High School in Denver and went on to graduate from Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado, and Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. Her steady dedication to learning became a lifelong thread—one that later shaped the lives of countless students and colleagues.
Pauline devoted her career to education in the Jefferson County School District, serving as both teacher and principal. Over 25 years as an elementary school principal, her compassionate spirit and deep regard for children and learning were evident in the care she brought to each day, touching the lives of so many children and fellow teachers. Alongside her work in schools, Pauline was also an accomplished artist.
In 1997, Pauline moved to the Estes Park area. She married David Keyser on March 10, 2002. Pauline gave her all for her son and grandchildren, and she was dearly beloved by those who knew her best.
An artist at heart and in practice, Pauline found joy in weaving and quilting, and she also loved to fish and camp. She was a member and organizer at the Art Center of Estes Park, offering her time and talents with the same giving nature that defined so much of her life.
Pauline is survived by her husband, David Keyser; her son, William Nathan Vielehr; her daughter-in-law, Leanne Vielehr; her grandchildren, Riley Vielehr and Owen Vielehr; and her sister, Anita Bustamante. She was preceded in death by both parents, Ernest and Deloris Bustamante. A Celebration of life with friends and family gathering at the Art Center of Estes Park from 5-7pm June 19th.
