Rosemary Ann Walsh

Rosemary (Rose) A Walsh, age 77, of Estes Park, CO passed away on November 27, 2025. She was born in Joliet, IL on March 23, 1948 to Leonard and Verna (Hritz) Szafranski. She attended St. Joseph’s School of Nursing where she earned her professional nursing degree in 1969. She married Joseph (Joe), whom she met at a very young age and grew up with, on October 4, 1969 and they resided in Joliet, IL until October 2000.

Rose started her career as a candy striper in high school. She worked at the Joliet Medical Group as a pediatric nurse for many years, before moving to Silver Cross Hospital, and finally Sunny Hill Nursing Home.

Rose and Joe honeymooned in Colorado many years before realizing their dream to live in the mountains. While retired they enjoyed driving through Rocky Mountain National Park and walking around the trails, and sitting on their deck taking in the sounds of nature around them.

In Joliet, she was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and while in Estes Park, she enjoyed visiting Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Verna Szafranski, and her loving husband Joseph Thomas Walsh. Rose will be remembered and missed by her daughter Joy (Andy) Wobido, her grandchildren Jacob and Jacy, sister-in-law, Rebecca Videtic, her loving dog, Ani, and numerous cousins.
