

Charlotte Marie Compton, age 93, of Eustis, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026. She was born on December 13, 1932, in Eustis, Florida, and remained a lifelong resident of the community she loved.
Charlotte was a gentle, thoughtful, and kind-hearted woman whose life was devoted to faith, family, education, and service. She graduated from Eustis High School in 1950 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University. Charlotte dedicated 33 years to teaching elementary education in the Eustis school system. Through her patience, dedication, and caring spirit, she touched the lives of generations of students and left a lasting impact on her community.
Her life was deeply rooted in faith and community involvement. Charlotte was a devoted member of Family Bible Church in Eustis. She was also active in civic life, serving the Eustis Women’s Club as both House Chairman and Vice President, and volunteering her time at the Eustis Memorial Library.
Charlotte was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, William Royce Compton.
She is survived by her three sons: William Eugene “Bill” Compton (Jaclyn) of St. Augustine, Florida; Robert Lawrence “Bob” Compton of Eustis, Florida; and Michael Scott Compton (Tonya) of Eustis, Florida. She is also survived by six grandchildren—Jason, Casey, Alex, Cory, Olivia, and Charlie—and five great-grandchildren.
