

Ouida Mae Koppel, born on January 27, 1936, in Tempy, Georgia, passed away on January 25, 2026, at the age of 90. She was a resident of Eustis, Florida. Ouida moved to Florida in 1972 from McCullough, Pennsylvania. She dedicated her career to serving as a school bus driver for Lake County Florida Schools, where she was known for her commitment and dedication to the safety and well-being of the students. Ouida was predeceased by her husband, Harold E. Koppel, her daughter, Tammie G. Koppel, and her son, Phillip M. Koppel. She is survived by her sons, Stephen E. Koppel (Mackensie) of Urbana, Ohio, and Harold "Butch" Koppel (Patricia) of Hiawassee, Georgia; her daughters, Lorrie A. Koppel of Eustis, Florida, Anita J. Russ (Robert) of Sterling, Virginia, and Heather J. Venuti (Scott) of Deleon Springs, Florida. She also leaves behind her brother, Jimmy Willis (Eloise) of Jacksonville, Florida, and her sister, Erline Taylor of Deleon Springs, Florida, along with 11 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 9 step great-grandchildren. Ouida was a lifelong member of the Church of God of Prophecy where she served as a pianist and songwriter and made many lasting contributions to her church family; she was also a member of the Eustis Moose Lodge and the American Legion. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
