Obituary of Cecil Ray Gish
Cecil Ray Gish, 89, of Evansville, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2019. He was born on January 19, 1930 in Henderson, Kentucky to the late Foster and Hazel (Dillingham) Gish. He retired from Union Local 90 where he received the gold medal for 50 years in carpentry. Cecil built homes in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s for Paul Crane and Paul Anderson. He built homes in Evansville, Florida and New Mexico. Cecil was a member of the Moose Lodge for many years. He and his wife Marge enjoyed traveling all over the United States. Cecil was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis; son, Donald Gish; and brother and sister-in-law, Oscar and Juanita Gish. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Marjorie Mae Gish; son, Richard Gish; step-daughters, Susie Brown, Helen Christner, Sharon Rice, and Linda Campbell (Tom); step-son, Joseph Lebel (Lorrie); grandchild, April Gish and many other grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Kelsie, Elizabeth, Sophia and many other great-grandchildren; niece, Diana Hostettler; and nephew, Steve Gish (Mary Jane). Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 14, 2019 at Alexander East Chapel officiated by Chaplain Scott Hutcheson. Entombment will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit on Sunday from 2-5pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice, 2532 Waterbridge Way, Evansville, Indiana 47710.
