Anna Mae (Sights) Cates, 97, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Monday, September 10, 2012 at Deaconess Hospital. Anna was born on May 28, 1915 to the late Robert David and Blanche (Cavanaugh) Sights. She was a member of The Seventh-Day Adventist Church, where she served as a Sabbath School Superintendent, Church Treasurer and a member of the church board. Anna was also a member of The Board of Trustees at Bethel Manor Nursing Home. She retired from Tucker-Nevils Brokerage Firm in 1980 after 26 years of service. Anna is survived by: daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Cates, Indianapolis, IN, granddaughter, Debbie Hunt (Larry), Beech Grove, IN, grandson, David Cates (Kimberly), Syracuse, IN, four great grandchildren, Mikhail Whyde and Casey Mathisen, both of Beech Grove, IN, J.R. and Jeremy Cates, Syracuse, IN, nieces, Emarie West, Evansville, IN and Carol Adams, Syracuse, OH, nephews, Russell Sights (Sharon), Henderson, KY and John Goodley (Casey), Helotes, TX, sister-in-law, Ruth Sights, Lexington, KY and great nieces and great nephews. Anna is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clay Cates in 1975 and a son, Dr. Jeryl Cates in 1974. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, September 14, 2012 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue with Pastor Richard Helzerman officiating. Entombment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Browning Funeral Home and from 12:00 noon until service time on Friday.
