

Vince was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during World War II. He was a member of the VFW Post #1114 and Trinity Methodist Church. He served as a Mason for over 65 years and was a member of Hermitage Lodge #356 in Albion, IL. Vince operated service stations for many years, starting with Standard Oil Company and retiring in 1987 as the operator of the Shell Station at Fulton Avenue and W. Franklin Street. After his retirement Vince repaired starters and alternators in his garage at his home.
Surviving Vince are his wife of 39 years, Sylvia (Flewallen) Oberhausen; two daughters, Carol Benjamin of Boulder, CO and Amy (Joe) Weisgerber of Dallas, NC; a sister, Martha Sue Hart of Tanzania, Africa; two brothers, Jack (Louise) Oberhausen of Evansville and Brent Oberhausen of Edgewood, KY; two grandchildren, Jarod Ewers and Mark Vincent Weisgerber; two great grandchildren, Ellie Rose Ewers and Wyatt Weisgerber and two sisters-in-law, Peggy (Larry) Anderson of Lawrenceville, GA and Luzada (Roger) Hayes of Evansville.
Vince was preceded in death by his parents, Arval and Mary Sadie Oberhausen and by a daughter, Marla Oberhausen.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, January 9, 2015 at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Arthur Christmas officiating. Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum where the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until service time on Friday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
