

Clara Opal Farmer-Harrison, 90, of Bonner Springs, Kansas, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Bonner Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born September 19, 1923 to the late James and Madie (Walker) McMillen.
Opal worked as a surgical technician at Deaconess Hospital for 25 years. She loved to cook, read, and quilt. She loved dogs, especially small lap dogs.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Fonzo Farmer in 1993 and Cecil Harrison in 2013; son, Rodney Farmer; brother, Bill McMillen; and sisters, Naomi McEwen, and Elizabeth McGinnis.
Opal is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Jenny and Tom Gossett of Evansville; daughter-in-law Maria Farmer of Des Moines, IA; grandson and granddaughter-in-law Chris and Junko Farmer and their son Blake of Atlanta, GA; step-daughter and step son-in-law Vicki and Jim Holman of Bonner Springs, KS; nieces and nephews; and many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Alexander Memorial Park's Heritage Chapel, 2200 Mesker Park Drive, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Thursday, May 8, 2014 10:00 AM until service time at Heritage Chapel.
