

He was a graduate of Castle High School and enjoyed working in the yard and animals. Don served his country in the Vietnam War as a veteran of the United States Army.
Surviving Don are his wife of 31 years, Janie Vonderscher; a daughter, Jenny Vonderscher of Indianapolis, IN; son, Donald (Susan) Vonderscher, Jr. of Newburgh; sister, Pam (Lawrence) Gish of Clarksville, TN; three brothers, David (Karen) Vonderscher of McKinney, TX, Michael (Sally) Vonderscher of Atlanta, GA and Darrell Vonderscher of Chandler, IN; two grandchildren, Lauren and Dylan Vonderscher and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Anna Vonderscher.
Funeral services for Don will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. John Motz officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, where the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
