Rev. Eugene Hall Evansville, Indiana One of Evansville's longest serving spiritual leaders, Rev. Eugene Hall, has gone on to collect his eternal reward for a lifetime of faithfulness. Like his earthly father, Rev. Hall worked a long time at the local stockyards. Like his heavenly father, he was a carpenter. Over the years, he built numerous homes, was regional director of maintenance for the Medco nursing home group, and eventually became the owner/administrator of the Owensville Convalescent Center. Each step of the way, he was a loving son, brother, husband, daddy and papaw. He also dedicated more than half a century pastoring a small group of Christian believers affectionately known as “The Little Flock.” In his later years, he was able to fulfill a dream to travel the world, visiting such places as Africa, Australia, China, Israel, and Japan. But then, on January 4, 2013, at 89 years old, the Rev. Eugene Hall finally accomplished the goal he had worked to achieve all his life... a non-stop flight to Heaven, where a mansion had been prepared in advance for him by his Redeemer and Lord, Jesus Christ. There to meet him was his wife of nearly 64 years, Pauline Hall, who had gone on ahead February 21, 2006. Among those waiting with her were his parents, Ollie and Unie; sisters, Anna Mae and Irma; his brothers, Roy and Donald; and his son-in-law, Jerry Glore. Rev. Hall's children have often said, “If Dad doesn't make it to heaven, there won't be anybody there.” This was never intended as an arrogant or pious comment. It was simply a first-hand observation that their Dad truthfully and honorably walked the talk he preached from the pulpit, every single day of his life. Those still remaining behind are two daughters, Gloria Glore, her companion, Walt, and Lisa Fields (Trent); and a son, Stephen Eugene Hall ( Fadocia Annette). Grandchildren are Tim Glore (Tammy), Brittany Fields and her fiance Taylor, Zachary Fields, Karrie Webb and Ezekiel Hall. Great grandchildren are Jesse Glore, Sara Glore, and Jocelyn Webb and a great-great grandchild, Eric Atkins, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Also waiting behind is Jim Ludwyck (Janet), a business partner and friend who is like another son and brother in Rev. Hall's family. A 1941 graduate of Central High School, Rev. Hall was pastor of the Pentecostal Prayer Center for more than fifty years before his retirement. He lived his life in love, doing his best to lift up others, doing every job as if was for God himself, while preaching the gospel and making every day a demonstration of his commitment to Christ. The family expresses its sincere thanks to all the wonderful staff at Transcendent Health Care of Owensville for the great love and care shown our dad. Visitation is at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday at Browning Funeral Home and from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM on Tuesday. Funeral services are at 1:00 PM on Tuesday afternoon, also at Browning Funeral Home, with entombment at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana, Kaden Tower, 6100 Dutchmans Lane, Suite 403, Louisville, KY, 40205-3284.
