

Franklin "Frank" J. Carr, Sr., 78, of Evansville, passed away Monday, August 4, 2014, at Parkview Care Center. He was born March 23, 1936, in Evansville, to the late Hilliary J. and Catherine R. (Droll) Carr.
He graduated from FJ Reitz High School in 1955, where he lettered in football and baseball. He was an Evansville Firefighter and retired after 30 years. Frank was a devoted husband, dad and grandpa. He was an avid outdoorsman and had a passion for the mountains, camping, hunting and fishing. He loved to travel and he and his wife, Judy, visited 49 of the 50 states. He treasured memories of these trips with his family and great friends.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Hilliary Dale Carr.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judy (Timberlake) Carr; daughters, Jenny (Preston) Johnson and Tracey (Keith) Kolb; son, Joe (Lesa) Carr, all of Evansville; grandchildren, David Farmer, Jessica Winn, Ginger Grantham, Hilliary Clanan, Amanda Miller, Cory and Cortney Carr, Kameron and Karlee Kolb; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Sue Scoles of Evansville.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM Thursday, August 7, 2014, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jeff Long, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
