Leroy graduated from Central High School in 1949. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and served in the Korean War. He was an Eagle Scout, Order of the Arrow, and a Scout Leader for 29 years. He was a photolithographer for Keller Crescent retiring in 1993 with over 30 years of service. He was a member of the Immanuel Presbyterian Church. Leroy was humorous and devoted to his family and friends. His hobbies included canoeing, traveling, leather tooling, photography, gardening, collecting old cameras and coins. He was also a history buff.
He was preceded in death by parents, Leroy A. and Eleanor Hollander; first wife, Beverly Bailey Hollander; son, Steven Hollander; and twin grandsons, Nathan and Noah Hollander.
Leroy is survived by wife, Elsie Rodgers Hollander; daughter, Barbara DeWeese (Denny); daughter-in-law, Susan Hollander; grandchildren, Aaron DeWeese (Cait); Stephanie Hollander, Kelley Hollander; great-grandchild, Keagan DeWeese; sister, Patricia Brown; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be 2:00PM Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Alexander West Chapel officiated by Rev. John Sloan with burial in Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 10:30AM until service time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 1230 Fountain Avenue, Evansville, IN 47710.
