Ruth played a double-bass in the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra for 13 years, ending in 1963.
She served as president of the Mental Health Association in Evansville for ten years.
Ruth was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Stephens, brother, James Camp, and sister, Martha Haering.
She is survived by her husband, Leroy E. Stephens; son, Randy E. Stephens (Tina); brother, Paul Camp (Sue); sister, Mary Weiss; brother, Steve Camp (Faye); grandchildren, Beverly Emerson, Melissa Redman, Alana Ross, and Christopher Rathgeber; and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Paul Higgins, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Tuesday from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
