Shad worked for Dean Volkman Signs, Weinbach's Cafeteria, and the Vanderburgh Humane Society.
All that knew Shad would recognize his long-time love for animals. Shad especially loved his dog, Mataji who he took care of until her recent death. Shad and Mataji were inseparable.
Shad was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert Holtz and Ed and Eileen Volkman.
He is survived by his mother, Vanell Volkman; father, Dean Volkman (Sue); grandmother, Virginia Holtz; half-sister, Shana Papariella (Brock); and aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A private memorial service will be held at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Fr. Henry Kuykendall.
