

Wayne was a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ.
After graduating from Central High School, he served two years in the U.S. Army. He received his accounting degree from Evansville College. Wayne was an Accountant for International Harvester and a bus driver for special needs children for the Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation.
His hobbies included golf, reading, and old country music. Wayne enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their activities as they grew up. He also enjoyed time with his great granddaughter, Myah, who always brought a smile to his face.
Wayne was preceded in death by brothers, Eugene and Wendell Simpson, beloved grandson, T.J., and parents, Isabelle and Ralph Simpson.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Maxine (Bohleber) Simpson; daughter, Deb McCuiston (Dale); sons, Jeff and David Simpson (Lisa); daughter, Beth Downs; grandchildren, Adam McCuiston (Anna), Drew McCuiston (Elise), Max, Wendi, and Sara Simpson, and Jake Downs; great-granddaughter, Myah; and nephew, Tim Simpson.
Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Rev. Brian Buschkill, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Wednesday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
