Billy Joe Ballard was born in Ranger, Texas on October 19th 1923. On Dec. 1st 2021, “Bill” Ballard, at age 98, peacefully passed from his home in Everett, WA to his eternal home with our Heavenly Father, and his loving wife of 64 years, Elinor Ballard.
Bill was a proud WW2 Veteran serving the United States Army in Italy and North Africa; he acquired the nickname “Wild Bill”, as he wasn’t one for rules. Despite that, he was honorably discharged after the war. He was a car enthusiast and worked as a car salesman and mechanic for over half a century. As a young man he won an award from NASH-Rambler cars for best in sales. Bill and Elinor were both ordained ministers pastoring Gospel Tabernacle and then Country Gospel Fellowship for many decades. Bill also loved playing his guitar. In his earlier years he and Elinor recorded and radio broadcasted music from their band The Pioneer Gospelaires. He also broadcasted his services through “The Waters of Life” broadcast on a local radio station.
Pastor Bill Ballard, as many know him, was known for his sense of humor and most of all his big heart. He had incredible love and compassion for others, be they friends or strangers. He was never a rich man, but anytime someone was in need he would do whatever he could to help.
He is survived by his daughters: Carol Ehrhart, Micky Alf and Billie Linder. His grandchildren: Larry Dean Hall, Pauline Myers, Tammy Albin, Stephanie Frederickson, Sean Alf, Brittanie Linder and Tyler Linder. As well as several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Bill will be sorely missed by numerous family members and countless many friends.
A celebration of life will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery in Everett, WA at 11AM, followed by a graveside military service. There will be fellowship and refreshments following, location will be announced.
