Debbie was born June 11, 1931 in Long Island, NY to Frank and Ruth Lenci. She spent only two years in NY before the family moved to Seattle and settled for life. She graduated from Cleveland High School in 1949, and started college in journalism and psychology. A 5’8” Italian beauty, Debbie was admired by many before she married John Pietromonaco in 1953. This started her career as mother to five children, which began in Seattle and moved to Issaquah in 1963. The log cabin on Tiger Mountain Road was her castle and she invited one and all. Her divorce in 1966 brought her to a 20-year career at Boeing with 5 years in the 10-80 lobby in Renton, and 15 years in payroll. After retirement Debbie pursued her passion for flowers working in nurseries. Debbie then moved to Mukilteo into a house with a spectacular view of the Sound and she was set. During her later years she traveled to Alaska, England, Israel, Italy, Panama and the Caribbean. There was nowhere that didn’t spark her interest. For the past 47 years she has been a Baha’i and that has been her way of life. She tried to create a world without prejudice and fears. Debbie continually helped promote the faith and was a leader wherever she lived or traveled. Her motto to the end was “the best is yet to be”.
Debbie leaves behind her children and in-laws John (Lilli), Frank (Kirsten), Sue (Chris Tank), Andrea, and Jonna. Grandchildren Nicole (Eric Campbell), Brianne (Danny Jackson), Stephanie, Michelle, Andy, Geena, Lindsey (Wade Millen), Alex, Renae, Danielle, and Jared. Great-grandchildren Michael, Mason, Oliver, Charlie, Luke, with two more on the way. Debbie will be laid to rest at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4504 Broadway, Everett, WA 98203, on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 1:00 pm. Donations can be made to the Mona Foundation. "
