On Sunday, January 1, 2023, Douglas Allen Ferguson , loving husband and father, passed away at the age of eighty-one. Doug earned his bachelor's degree in education from Central Washington University and spent twenty-eight years as a high school shop teacher. His love for teaching shined through, as he touched many lives during his teaching career.
Doug loved to share fishing stories and always enjoyed the great outdoors. He spent many summers camping with his family. Eventually Doug and his wife Candy became full time campers at Gold Bar Nature Trails.
Besides being a storyteller, Doug will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and caring nature.
Animals were always part of Doug's life. His pets include a capuchin monkey, a chinchilla, multiple potbellied pigs that Doug and Candy rescued and homed on their mini farm in Arlington, and of course cats and dogs.
Doug is survived and missed by his loving wife Candy of 51 years and his children Aaron (wife Sandra), Renee (husband Lynsey), and four grandchildren, Zoe, Selah, Wyatt, and Finley.
