Elvis Garcia Villanueva was born on November 11, 1961 in the city of Lingayen in Pangasinan Province in the country of The Philippines to Emilio and Fidela Villanueva. Elvis married Remedios Ignacio at the Municipal Court in the city of Lingayen on June 23, 1990, and they have one daughter Ashley Lorraine Villanueva.
Elvis was an Aerospace Machinist by trade and worked in the aerospace industry for 7 years; his last tenure was working for the aerospace company Rockwell Collins in Everett, WA building airplane parts and interiors. Other prior work experiences took him to Canada assembling and building ambulances, and immersing himself in side-jobs as a carpenter building home interiors. He loved his work and was very dedicated to whatever task on hand was assigned to him; his attendance rarely took time off or sick leave. If given the choice, he never would have retired with idle hands.
He was a very intelligent, talented, and quiet man with a very eclectic array of affinities from carpentry, crossword puzzles, dog breeding, computers, tablet games, science, technology, and cooking. His passion was carpentry, cooking, and everything technology … if afforded the opportunity in his younger days he would have easily been an engineer-carpenter and a chef as a side hobby.
He was an adoring husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Above all else … he sacrificed a decade of his life away from his wife and daughter to financially provide for them by traveling to where the work opportunities were offered.
Elvis was diagnosed with the rare Neuroendocrine Carcinoma cancer in March 2019 and he jumped into fighting the cancer with a headstrong attitude. Over the course of 9 months he battled his cancer without a single complaint and struggled through the pain of chemotherapy and radiation treatment under his own terms … never having to show his pain to others. He was humble and stubborn to a fault to not burden others even though he required the help.
After a protracted battle, Elvis lost his brave fight with cancer on Saturday, December 21st and made the next step towards the morning sunrise. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him and those who loved him; and especially those whose lives he had touched.
He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Remy, 14 year old daughter, Ashley, and 92 year old mother, Fidela; and also 4 brothers and 4 sisters, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
