Obituario de Ernest Edward Walker
EN EL CUIDADO DE

Evergreen Funeral Home & Cemetery

Ernest Edward Walker passed away May 1, 2020, peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Ernest was born February 21, 1933 in Meridian, Mississippi. He was the sixth of seven children born to Monroe and Annie Eva (Hawkins) Walker.

He graduated from Harris High School in Meridian and enlisted in the Air Force. In his 20 years of service he became a skilled electrician, and reached the rank of TSgt (Technical Sergeant). His time in the Air Force took him to many places around the world including Guam, Okinawa (Japan), Thailand, and Viet Nam. After retiring from the Air Force he worked as an electrician for Boeing for 22 years where he was recognized on many occasions for his excellent attendance and was once honored with a helicopter tour over Everett.

Ernest loved his church, Bailey AME, where he was a faithful member for 53 years, serving as treasurer for over 45 years, an usher, and a member of the choir. He also loved the Seahawks, the Mariners, long Sunday afternoon drives, the Meridianites, his time share at Whistler, but most of all he loved his family and let them know it with his consistent and generous gifts.

Ernest leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of over 60 years Annie (Stevenson) Walker, his three daughters, Sherron (Sean) Boyea of Sacramento CA, Debra (Murphy) Parrish of Anaheim CA, and Toya Walker of Everett, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one godson, and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, his four brothers, Sidney, Cyde Sr., Monroe Jr., Claude, and two sisters, Velma Welch and Elsie Walker.
