

Gaither was born in Missoula May 5, 1946 Mt. He attended Willard elementary and MCHS in Missoula, his senior year he moved to Oakland California to finish high school and graduated. On November 8th 1966 he enlisted in the U.S. Army completing three years of active duty.Gaither 1st tour was in Korea with a aviation transportation unit. His last duty station was Fort Knox, Kentucky where he completed his military obligation on November 7th 1969.
After discharge he returned home.Gaither attended Carroll college in Helena Montana with the help of the GI bill. He was employed at Culbertson's a iron works company in Missoula. He then moved to Nampa Idaho, where he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad which covered southern Idaho and Utah. He came home for awhile and venture into truck rebuilding with close friend Bob Crossley. In his later years he was self employed in the leather business making saddle bags, other items from leather and hand made knives. He enjoyed selling his hand made items at gun shows around the western states.
Gaither love the outdoors. He hunted, fished, camped whenever possible in the great outdoors of Montana and Idaho. He loved casting a fly on the many rivers and streams of his home state. Gaither also enjoyed both water and snow skiing, loved the outdoors in all seasons. He also enjoyed spending time shooting and fishing with his nephews. He enjoyed rebuilding old cars.
Gaither decided he needed a scenery change and moved to Everett, Washington where he lived until his passing. He will be truly missed by his family and many friends in Montana, Idaho and Washington. Gaither parents proceeded him in death Velma and Albert Greenfield and step father Richard Fristo. He is survived by three sisters Sari (Penny), Kendal Thomas, Velora (Lory), Bill Fetterhoff and Jodie, Dennis MrCrea. His 4 nephews and 3 nieces. He was a awesome son, big brother, uncle and friend.
Cremation has taken place and memorial is planned for this summer in Missoula.
