Hong Thi Kim Nguyen, 56, of Tacoma, Washington, passed away peacefully at her home on February 9th 2025 after a battle with cancer.

Hong attended Phan Dinh phung Elementary, and graduated at Huu Huan High School. She became teacher at Huynh Man Dat, Nha Be Elementary school. She later worked as an accountant for a private company, Neptune, in Viet Nam.
In 1999, Hong moved to the USA and lived with her brother, Phil Nguyen and his lovely wife, Su Lee in Bothell, Washington. A year later, Hong moved to Salinas, California where she met her spouse, Maher Naber, while studying Microbiology at Hartnell College in Salinas, California.
After graduation with a degree in Medical Lab Technology in 2007, a career path that she always wanted to pursue, Hong worked at Salinas valley Memorial Hospital, and Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula in California.
In 2009, Hong and Maher, who was a registered nurse, moved to Tacoma, Washington, closer to Hong’s family, and both worked at Tacoma General Hospital. Hong adored her new job and her coworkers. She remained at her job for the past 16 years!
Outside of her works, Hong loved to cook, to crochet, to travel, to meditate, and to spend time with her friends and siblings. She enjoyed her once-a-month party with her big family. She loved to cook A LOT of delicious traditional Vietnamese cuisine!
Hong loved to give. Most recently, and while undergoing vicious chemotherapy, she crochet hundreds of colorful hats, scarves, and many beautiful accessories. However, instead of listening to her wise husband's advice to open a store and sell, she gave them all away to friends, coworkers, and family!
Hong also loved children. She didn’t mind to drive 50 miles from Tacoma to Bothell To babysit her nieces and nephews, and never had a traffic violation other than crossing some red lights and a few speeding violations!
Those who knew Hong will remember her infectious smile, and her unwavering commitment to spreading love and kindness to everyone she encountered.
Hong is survived by her husband, Maher, her siblings, and many nieces and nephews!

MEMORY OF ME
I'd like the memory of me
To be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow
Of smiles
When life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering
Softly down the ways.
Of happy times and laughing times
And bright sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve,
To dry before the sun
Of happy memories that I leave
When life is done.
