Jake was born on September 12th, 1931 in Prosser, Washington. He was raised in Pasco and spent several years working for Chevron before venturing out to start his own company. He got married, had 2 daughters, then eventually moved to Phoenix, OR to raise his family. He successfully built a petroleum contracting business and was a mentor to many people. Jake’s legacy in that industry is far reaching and will last a good while.
In 1991, he married Janet and moved to the Seattle area. They spent a lot of time in their boat cruising the waters of Puget Sound and he also enjoyed RV camping, especially at the sand dunes on the Oregon Coast with his family. He was happiest when surrounded by his whole family.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4 pm on Friday, Sept. 23rd at the Evergreen Funeral Home, 4504 Broadway, Everett, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at the Milltown Sailing Association Building, 410 14th St, Everett (by the Everett Yacht Club). A private “Burial at Sea” ceremony will be held on Saturday, Sept 24th at 11 am.
Jake’s whole attitude in life was about being so very young in heart and soul! He was good at playing the “old grouch” in his later years, but we all know how soft hearted he was. When he smiled, everyone smiled!
Arrangements under the direction of Evergreen Funeral Home, Everett, WA.
