Janet Rogge, age 72 of Bothell, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at the Evergreen Health Hospice Center in Kirkland after a 6-year battle with cancer. She was born on August 8, 1945, in Tacoma, Washington, daughter of the late Edward Godfrey Rinkenberger, Jr. and Naomi Belle (Dewey) Rinkenberger.
From the time she was a child, Janet had a love of horses. Any spare moments she had, she could be found around a horse, even if it meant mucking out the stalls. This led Jan to owning, showing and enjoying Arabians almost her entire life.
She gave birth to Kimberly Ann on May 23, 1967 and enjoyed raising her daughter to adulthood, then a transformation from a parent-child relationship to best friends.
She started her career at Seafirst Bank, working her way up to Branch Manager and then Assistant Vice-President. After retiring from the bank Janet and her daughter went into business together, opening a successful tax and accounting practice. With all of Janet's knowledge of accounting, Janet served as President of the Washington Association of Accountants in 2002.
On September 8, 2003, Janet married her soulmate and love of her life Lawrence Joseph "Joe" Rogge, Jr. Theirs was a union that most people only dream of having. She loved him with all her heart, and he absolutely adored her. Upon retirement, Janet and Joe moved to Arizona for several years enjoying retirement and the nice warm winters. She loved her grandchildren and her newly acquired family with Joe.
Janet was diagnosed with cancer in Arizona in 2011, but she didn't let this get her down. She had such a love of life! Janet fought a hard battle to beat the cancer but on October 25th, surrounded by her loving Husband Joe and her Daughter Kimberly, Janet went to be with the Lord, her Savior.
Janet is survived by her husband, Joe; daughter Kimberly (Tim) Farrell and grandchildren Jesstina and Jonathan; brother Jerald (Lynn) Rinkenberger; sister Barbara McKenzie; step-children Carol (Lynn) DeLozier, Mark (Brenda) Rogge, Cathy (Jim) Edwards, and Terry (Yvette) Sayles; loving nieces, nephews and numerous close family and friends.
Graveside Memorial Service will be held at Machias Community Cemetery, 1201 Silva St., Snohomish, WA 98290 on Thursday, November 16, 2017, at 11:00 am followed by a reception at South Lake Stevens Grange, 2109 103rd Ave., Lake Stevens, WA.
