

Her loving son Scott, was by her side holding her hand. She was the widow of Norman Clyde Helm of 63 years together. She was born March 16th 1927 in Everett WA and raised on a farm in East Sunnyside, Lake Stevens.
She was the daughter of Scott and Nellie Hubbard, with two brothers, William (Bill) and James (Jim) Hubbard respectfully.
She attended WSU for her undergrad, then went to Everett General now Providence for her nurses training. She graduated in 1951 the same year her and Norm were married. She later went to UW to finish her degree to become an RN. She worked a number of years in Nursing Home facilities. The Everett School district as a health nurse, serving the elementary level, serving a different school every day. She then later worked at Twin Rivers Correctional facility in Monroe. She kept her nursing license active until Norm passed away in 2014. She also was a Real Estate Agent for a while.
She was a lifetime member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Snohomish, sang in the choir and was very active in the church. She was also a member of Lakewood Lutheran from 1998 till her passing.
She was a Campfire leader for 10 years.
She also entered her quilts that she made at the Evergreen Fair, and Stanwood Camano Fair. She loved quilting, she was very knowledgeable in the use of color and pattern. She had an excellent eye for design and placement of pieces. She received many Blue ribbons and would always sit with her machine and handiwork while working on a quilt, and would enjoy talking to the people and answering questions about quilting.
She would also enter the Flower Arrangement shows as well. She was an active Bridge player at the Stillaguamish Senior Center and Marysville Senior Center. She enjoyed putting puzzles together, crosswords, and writing excellent poetry and before she passed she started a novel in 2020 with the subject of Espionage. She will be remembered for her light loving heart, her sweet personality, her beautiful smile, and too many other things to count.
She is survived by her daughter Aletha Riter, husband Mark. Her son Scott Helm, wife Jana. Three grand-children Kata Helm, Melea Knott and husband Dilian, Nellie Canarr and husband Kennedy .
Followed by two great grandchildren Derk and Myles. Her brother Bill Hubbard Whom Passed one week after to the day) his wife Monica if 64 years and their four children Kate McKenna, Bill Jr. and his wife Joni, Susan Hubbard, and Laurie Stayer and her husband Keith.
She was predeceased by Norman C. Helm who passed away in 2014. She had two faithful caregivers/housekeepers, Peggy Oard and Harla Rae Johnson. Thank you to the Kindred Care Team who came in and did physical and occupational therapy twice a week. Thank you to the staff at Arlington Health Care and Rehab Center during her final months.
Her Celebration of life gathering will be held at 17932 12th ave NW on December 11th from 1 to 3 pm.
She will be missed by all who knew her.
