Kathy Lynn Davis, 75, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, May 21, 2026. She was born in Everett, Washington on August 17, 1950, and lived most of her life in the Machias and Lake Stevens area.
Kathy graduated from Lake Stevens High School in 1968, where she was a spirited cheerleader. She attended college and went on to build a career as an office manager and bookkeeper for Evergreen State Sheet Metal & Natural Gas Equipment, and later GLD Enterprises.
She shared a remarkable and full life with her best friend and husband, Gary L. Davis. Together they loved traveling the world, vacationing at their home in Chelan, and spending time with family and friends at their Lake Stevens home. They enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, RVing, wintering in Arizona, and collecting beautiful things. Kathy and Gary loved entertaining and treasured their family, countless friends, business partners, and beloved dogs throughout the years.
Kathy was a devoted 12th Man fan for the Seahawks, enjoyed attending Sonics games, and proudly rooted for the Mariners. She was also known to join her dad, stepmom, and brothers in friendly wagers on NASCAR races, all in hopes of winning the cherished Ranch Cup trophy.
Kathy especially loved spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and delighted in baking treats for them. She made unforgettable cookies and pies from treasured family recipes and always seemed to have something delicious in the kitchen. She also enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, and, above all, spending time with her family.
Kathy was also known for her quick wit and snarky sense of humor. Her sharp comebacks and signature sass could always make people laugh and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Kathy is survived by her son, Justin Bashour (Deanna); her stepson, Dale Davis (Evelyn); and her four stepdaughters, Darlene Salo, Sandy Clark (Tom), Shelli Thomas (Tim), and Jeanne Davis. She is also survived by her brothers, Tom and Ken Lakey; her stepmother, Linda Lakey; her half-sister, Sue Lindquist; her stepbrothers, Dave Evans (Bev), Richard Evans, Bob Evans (Tammy); Dennis Evans (Debbie) and Lawrence Evans; her step sisters Vicki Evans and Patti Eggleston (Rich) and her lifelong best friends, Karol Lindberg and Connie Lakey. Kathy also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary L. Davis; her former husband, Leonard Bashour; her parents, John Lakey and Wanda Evans (Dick); her sister-in-law, Karen Lakey; her son in law, Ken Salo and her great grandson, Lucas Salo.
Kathy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered as an amazing mom, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.
There will be a small private family gathering sometime in the future.
A Tribute of Remembrance and Love
You can shed tears because she is gone, or you can smile because she has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that she’ll come back, or you can open your eyes and see all she’s left. Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her, or you can be full of the love she shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live in yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her and only that she’s gone, or you can cherish her memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, or you can do what she’d want: smile, open your eyes, love, and go on. ~Author Unknown
