He leaves his children Clarice (Norman) Gregory, Janean (Ed) Harper, Randy Chambers,
Ron Chambers, Michelle (Tim) Webb, Naomi (Carol) Chambers and
Carrie (Patrick) Zambrano. He also leaves 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren,
sister-in-law Rhodessa Rieken and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Kelly was also preceded in death by his parents, William and Erna Chambers, siblings Bill, Marita, Moran and Patricia and daughters-in-law Toni and Diane.
Kelly’s family moved from Crescent Bar to Cathcart WA in 1932. He graduated from Snohomish
High School in 1947, served in the National Guard and the Army in the Korean War
and married Salome in 1954.
A machinist by trade, Kelly worked at several local manufacturers including Boeing
and Skagit Bendix. He was an inventor, scientist, instructor, accomplished handyman
and avid outdoorsman.
Kelly and Salome raised their family in Mountlake Terrace and then Machias and were devoted members
of the Catholic church, St. Vincent dePaul Society and Legion of Mary. They spent their life together dancing, and were members of the Sons of Norway and Sno-Valley and Dakota polka clubs.
A funeral mass will be held Friday June 4th at 10 am
at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic church in
Everett with burial following at 11:30 am at Cypress Lawn cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Providence Hospice and Home Care of Snohomish County.
