The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was a large part of Lola's life. She was a member of several volunteer groups through the church and was a big part of the Mormon community in Napa.

MIRACLES
In awe the eyes of youth will see
The miracles of earth –
A tree, a bird,
"A brilliant cloud,
A seedling’s precious worth.
The miracle of teenage years,
The road from child to man,
As butterflies
Expand their wings,
We rise and say, “I can.”
The miracle of birth awaits
The pledging of two hearts
In an eternal marriage that
Will never,
Ever part.
The miracle of love grows daily,
Stronger through the years,
As life presents her pageant
Filled with laughter
And with tears.
A young man brought a message to us
From our home above.
Miracles, God’s wond’rous gifts,
Are sent to us
With His love.
