"Chief Operator"
Mary worked for GTE for 34 years, loved her job, co-workers, and retired in 1986 as Chief Operator. She was born to Parker and Ida Requa in Everett, Washington on July 29, 1929 and passed away peacefully on July 21, 2012 with granddaughter Tina Evans and husband Bill, by her side. She married the love of her life, John Hurd, and together they raised three children. She was preceded in death by John in 1991. She leaves behind their children; Linda Windom (Larry) and family, John Hurd (Kathy)and family, and Cheri Kurschner (Jim), several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and special friends. She was an extraordinary woman; loving, generous, caring, fair, and funny. She touched the lives of many people through her mentoring and volunteer work. She was loved by all who knew her and will be forever missed. We want to thank Hospice and her caregivers for their kind support. Donations can be given to the charity of your choice in her honor. At Mary's request, there will be no service. A private family remembrance will be held in the near future.
