

Mary Morse, age 88, of Monroe, WA, passed away on July 18, 2017, in Kirkland, WA. She was born on April 9, 1929, in Ellensburg, WA, to Henry and Juanita Betz. She graduated from Roosevelt High School, and attended The University of Washington.
Mary married Fran Morse on November 11, 1950, in Seattle. They made their home in Seattle, Coupeville, and Monroe, WA over the years.
Mary was a homemaker, worked in the family business (Morse Variety) and later was the snack bar manager at Monroe High School.
She was a longtime member of Monroe United Methodist Church and was active there as a Sunday School Teacher and in the Women’s Society among other things, until declining health prevented it.
She also enjoyed being a Girl Scout leader and singing in the Everett Chorale. Mary loved spending time with family and friends. She also loved traveling, reading, collecting angels and making latch hook rugs. In her retirement she especially enjoyed providing childcare for all three grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and sisters, Betty Betz and Barbara Stowe.
She is survived by her daughters , Kris (Bruce) Gallagher, Becky (Greg) Westerman and Jennifer (Jay) Anderson; three grandchildren , Alex Gallagher, Rachel and Eric Anderson, one great grandchild, Wesley Gallagher; nieces, nephews, other extended family, and many friends.
A memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home.
