

Ellen was preceded in death by her grandparents Edward Hobbs Jr. & Ada Smith and Otis & Minnie Martin and her parents and her husband, Earl in 1978
She had two brothers Edward Otis Hobbs and Glenn Ashley Hobbs Jr.
Ellen married Earl Ruth on June 25, 1964. Earl worked for McDonnell Douglas aerospace company, which took them to many cities in California a few of those were Oakland, Redding and Los Angeles. Earl took a job with Boeing and the family moved to Western Washington where Jack first met Mary. They then moved back to Los Angeles. Some years later, Ellen and Earl moved back to Washington to be near their children and young grandchildren.
She always loved animals. One of her first pets was a rooster. When she was about 6 years old, the family home caught fire Ellen ran back into the burning home to rescue her beloved tea set which in later years she handed down to her granddaughter Shannon.
Ellen was wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. She was a very fashionable dresser. She liked to shop for clothes, which she elegantly adorned her-self with often including belts, hats and scarfs. She may have had a pair of shoes for every occasion. She fished and did archery with her husband, Earl and her sons, Jack and Ron. She like to ride bicycles. Blue and Gold were her favorite colors. She also enjoyed to dancing and music, her favorite artists were Elvis, The Ink Spots and Harry Belafonte.
Ellen is survived by her sons, Jack Crawford and Ron Shumaker, her step-daughter, Barbara Ruth; her brother, Glenn Jr.; 9 grandchildren; Shannon, Michelle, Martha, Mark, Patsy, Ginger, Douglas, Terrell and LaDonna; 17 great grandchildren, Hailley, Austin, Mason, Troy, Cody, Katelyn, Danny, Paul, Brianna, Ryanne, Ericka, Meagan, Ricki, Sabrina, Dominique, Meesha and Brittany and many other family and friends.
