Michelle Marie Weatherspoon was born on September 9th, 1976. She grew to have reddish-brown curly locks, with complimenting hazel eyes that always seemed so warm when she smiled, and freckles that were sprinkled from head to toe.
In her adolescence she excelled in gymnastics and swimming and proved to be ahead of her year in school, which made her elidable to skip 4th grade. She was a social butterfly and a natural born leader. Michelle was one of the most stubborn strong-willed humans to walk this planet. If she couldn’t be the best swimmer on the team, there was no use in being a part of it. She was passionate. She was kind, and empathetic. She carried a laugh that could fill an entire room, and it sounded like pure carefree joy.
Michelle embarked on a mission trip to Africa, which she had dreams of doing since she was a little girl. She also traveled all around the United States, the Caribbean, and San Juan in Puerto Rico. And she never wanted to stop adding to the list of places she had seen.
She was a mother to three daughters; Maelyn, Jordyn, and Jane. Michelle was an avid garage saler, a lover of the color green, sweatpants, and all comfort food (especially biscuits and gravy). Her favorite chocolates were Ferrero Rocher, and she always liked her Krispy Kreme doughnuts warmed up before she ate them. And her favorite flowers were sunflowers.
She was a paranoid Schizophrenic, that overcame years of drug use to focus on the betterment of her children and the mental illness that plagued her. Michelle was also a Sepsis survivor that lead to many lasting heart issues. In her lucid thoughts she never lost hope for a life without pain, and she got excited about the possibility to find love again.
In May 2018, Michelle’s Schizophrenia sent a signal from her brain to stop her heart. Without any damage to her organs, or substances in her blood, Michelle peacefully went to sleep.
When I think of all the love she held for her family, her dreams of travel, the push to sobriety, the life that lead to be a constant struggle, I know she persisted. She never stopped striving for the life that she could see in her future. We all pray that heaven makes you feel at home. I can’t wait to see you again.
