Moua Lo

Moua Lo was born on May 5th, 1930, in Phu Kha, a province in Laos. Her parents, Xai Cheng Lor and Yia Thor, had seven other children: two brothers (Song Neng and Cha Seng) and five sisters (Xia, Lue, Lee, Chong, Mee). Moua was the fourth child. All of her siblings are deceased except her two younger sisters, Chong and Mee, who reside in Thailand and Alaska respectively.

Moua grew up in Phu Kha Province of Laos and married her soulmate Vang Seng Cha. They had 15 children but sadly lost 8 of them. Their surviving children are four sons (Chue Say, Chay Pao, Chong Kua, and La) and three daughters (Chia, Chee (deceased 2014) and Lia). Moua was blessed with over 200 great-grandchildren in total.

In 1974, due to the Vietnam War, Moua and her family fled to Hoi Yoit (Thai Refugee Camp). They stayed there for five years before arriving in the United States in August 1980. Moua embraced Christianity in Seattle, Washington.

Moua Lo passed away peacefully with the Lord in Lynnwood, Washington on May 1st, 2023, due to old age. She was surrounded by her family at her bedside. She was 92 years old and would have celebrated her 93rd birthday on May 5th. She lived a long, fulfilling life and was renowned for her benevolent heart, diligent work ethic, and humorous wit. Moua was a cherished mother, beloved grandmother, sweet great-grandmother, and a caring great-great-grandmother who possessed a remarkable talent for narrating captivating stories and amusing jokes that brought joy and laughter to everyone. She was knowledgeable in the past and present and could converse with anyone on any subject. Her delightful, contagious laugh brightened everyone’s mood.

Today, we celebrate and remember Moua Lo - our wonderful mom, cheerful grandmother, sweet great-grandmother, and caring great-great-grandmother. May she find God’s peace in heaven. May God bestow his blessings of happiness, wellness, and good health on everyone who is in attendance.
