Rebecca was born on May 5, 1948 in Oak Harbor, Washington to Elizabeth and Ray King; and passed away at the age of 76 in the comfort of her home and surrounded by her family in Everett, Washington.
Rebecca cherished being a mother and doting grandmother. She especially loved cooking and baking with, and for, her children over the years.
Rebecca earned her Masters in Social Work from the University of Washington and became an accomplished child and family therapist focusing and bettering the world of attachment disorders. In her 40+ years in this work, she transformed and impacted thousands of children and families who were dealing with extreme trauma through her private practice at Attachment Center Northwest.
She was a proud member of the Seattle Greek Community and the Greek Orthodox Church of the Assumption and had a passion for collecting fine and vintage china and silver.
Together for thirty years, Rebecca married the love of her life, Debra Forman, in a beautiful backyard ceremony on July 26th, 2013. Rebecca and Debra shared a love for cooking, spending time with friends and family, and exploring the cultures of the world.
Rebecca leaves a legacy of transformative healing, warmth, delicious mac and cheese, love, and nurturing. She is survived by her wife, Debra Forman, her brothers Tim (Janet) King and Chris (Christy) King, her children, Jesse Perbix, Aja Dostal (Chris), Alexa Hasman (Tyler), Carl Fairbanks and her grandchildren, Presley, Kylie, Silas, Madisyn and Ari. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 19th between 1:30pm-5pm (High Tea Open House) at Rebecca and Debra’s house with tributes at 4:00pm. Please RSVP for address at [email protected].
