Richard passed away peacefully after a long fight with Parkinson’s/dementia. Richard was born to Frank & Katie Hinderman in Everett, Washington. He was one of seven sons, his six brothers & parents preceded him in death; George, John, Ed, Ron, (Richard), Mike, and Fred.
Richard was the most loving and devoted husband, father, brother, Uncle, friend, and Papa. He was also preceded by the love of his life, Bette Hinderman after 49 years of marriage; he was survived by his daughter, Michele Jackson (Steve Jackson); his son, Steve Hinderman (Mari Hinderman); his daughter, Rachel Harvey (Marlon Harvey); and his son, Bryan Hinderman (Alyssa Hinderman). Also, the best Papa to 11 grandchildren in order: Nicole, Brittney, Ashley, Taylor, Haley, Kiley, Madison, Seth, Sam, Elijah & Max. He had a large extended family that truly loved him; Brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nephews, nieces, and so many dear friends.
Richard was a dedicated Jehovah's Witness along with his wife & children. He was baptized December 9, 1971, in Everett, Washington. He served his God, Jehovah for many years.
After 31 years at Boeing, Richard retired in 2016. One of his dearest friends, that he called family, is Greg. He enjoyed working alongside him for the last 25 years of his career, and Greg could always count on him to be there on time, with a huge smile, and ready to work. He was also very proud to have his two sons, Steve and Bryan, work at Boeing with him.
Richard loved to make his family and friends happy, enjoyed eating almost anything with the exception of cranberry sauce. He also loved eating his granddaughters’ baked goods, going to early morning breakfast with his sons on Saturday, playing pool, cribbage with Grandpa Petersen, many card games, especially Skipbo, and of course fishing any chance he got! He looked forward to all of the family get-togethers held every year. Family was everything to him, if you knew Richard aka “Uncle Dick”, then you were loved dearly. We all have so many awesome memories of him that we all will cherish forever!
We are forever thankful for the loving care he received from Adan & Deborah Balangue and their wonderful, caring team in his final days.
Sincerely from Richard’s loving family!
Memorial Services for Richard will be held on April 8th 1:30 pm at Bayside Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2530 Harrison Ave, Everett, WA 98201.
