He was born in Everett, Washington to Armon Frahm and Josephine (Bail) Frahm on September 19, 1938. He received his education in Everett and graduated from Everett High School. He then went on to work for Weyerhaeuser Company for nearly 30 years.
Ronald served his Country honorably, with the US Army during the Cuban Crisis and later in the Army Reserve. He was keenly aware of politics and understood the forces that shaped our everyday lives.
After a five year pursuit, he married the love of his life, Margret Bitto in 1963, and soon after they welcomed their son Shawn into this world. They had three grandchildren; Cameron, Molly and Sophia Frahm. Their union lasted 61 years. Ronald had an innate sense of nature as evidenced by his love of all living creatures and his gardening skills. He was an expert in all things mechanical. He was quite a fisherman and enjoyed camping with family and friends. Ronald had a curiosity about the world, and his travels took him to Europe; visiting Germany, Austria, France and Switzerland. At one point he stood in front of submachine guns for four hours at the border of Hungary and Romania (1983), He was finally allowed entry after bribing the guards with Kent Filter-Tip Cigarettes and flirting with a female guard. The cigarettes were a prized currency at the time, and he came prepared. He was seldom deterred from his missions.
Ronald was predeceased by his parents, his sister Sally Mock, brother Richard Frahm and grandson Cameron Frahm.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Margret and son Shawn (Sharon), Brother Morris Fosse, Jr. (Sharon), and sisters Laurel Reilly and Frances Karzmar and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was kind and generous, and lived for those who loved him, and for those who knew him best. His family would like to specifically thank Dr. Kiarash Kojouri and the nurses and staff at the Skagit Cancer Center for their kindness and compassion while Ronald was under their care.
At his request, no services will be held. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. A donation in his memory may be made to Hospice of the Northwest Skagit County.
